Open Budget: Why is budget transparency important?

How much of the budget can we see?

Budget transparency is associated with better performance, accountability, and public and market confidence. Malaysia’s budget transparency still lags behind our ASEAN neighbours but has been improving in recent years.

More and more documents relating to the budget are now available online for public use. Their availability is an important development that allows for more public participation in the budget. You can find their links here:
