Kuala Lumpur, 28 May 2019 – On behalf of the board, management and staff of IDEAS, Founding President Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin has sent deepest condolences to the family of the late Tan Sri Khoo Kay Kim.

“He was personally very kind to me, Wan Saiful and Wan Firdaus over the years and his advice in the early formation of IDEAS was vital. His knowledge, experience and sensibility enabled us – as a new and unknown entity operating in a sometimes hostile environment – to grow and establish ourselves within the public policy space. It was just one of his many contributions towards making Malaysia more democratic, more mature and more cognisant of its complex history. Malaysians of all generations and persuasions owe him a debt of gratitude for his decades of education, inspiration and even provocation.” Tan Sri Khoo Kay Kim served on IDEAS Advisory Board from 2009 to 2013.
